I spoke a little about this on Instagram, but lately I have been feeling the pull to create more “moments” in photography. I love traditional, all smiling, family images, but something in me has been wanting to show more. More emotion. More joy. More moments. I wanted to step out of the situation and capture families just being families. Watching kids interact with their parents and each other without heavy direction from me. Just gently guided. I asked my fellow photographer friend Cait if I could come into her home and document her adorable family and she graciously let me. We chatted about her family, her boys interests and what she loved about this stage in their lives. I went into her beautiful home on a gorgeous afternoon. We had the sun just beaming in and I just let their family be a family. I loved every minute of it. I wanted to share some of my favorites from the day.
