Rainy Day Wedding at Juniper Rooftop – Katie & Ron
When people ask me about my favorite weddings a few really stand out to me. This rainy day wedding at Juniper Rooftop is DEFINITELY one of those! Katie and Ron came to me at the beginning of 2019 because their current wedding photographer had to move out of state suddenly. That photographer had shared my name with them. After our first consult, I KNEW that I wanted to spend the day with Katie and Ron, if only just to hang out with them. They are easy-going, caring and smiled and laughed a LOT and I knew their wedding day would be filled with the same!
The day of their wedding came and all of our plans to photograph around downtown were pretty much ruined. It was Ohio…it was raining. Katie and Ron couldn’t care less. They had a sweet first look under the entranceway of their hotel and we reconvened inside to make a plan. We all were on our cell phones trying to find a good back up plan. I got ahold of the Columbus Museum of Art and were nice enough to let us come in for a few photos. When we arrived an event room had just emptied. It was full of windows and light and we loved it!
I can honestly say I have never laughed more at a wedding. Starting the day off with all the groomsmen thinking I asked them to give me “finger guns” for a photo, it became a running gag of the day. ( You will find a bunch of random finger guns throughout the photos in the blog!) Katie and Ron laughed their way through all of their vows and honestly, it just felt like them. We ended the evening with the rooftops opening up and dancing under the stars!
It honestly was such a beautiful day, AND I got to photograph at the new BEAUTIFUL venue Juniper Rooftop. It’s stunning and the perfect backdrop for a wedding in the city! Rain and all!
